Pedestrian Overhead Bridge on Zhongqi Road, Shalu Township
Shalu
1. The planar shape of the whole bridge appears to be a reverse compound curve. With the addition of the oblique steel cables, it turned into a highly complex 3D prototype. Prior to construction, production of the precise drawings was required and respective coordinates had to be confirmed before they turn into correct-dimensioned levers.
2. The tower is tilted 73 degrees upward. The top of the column reaches 36 meters, which made suspension and fixation extremely daunting. Two cranes were needed to collaborate with each other during construction.
3. Orientation of the cable joints had to be precisely configured in order not to damage the integral material of the joint. This also required 3D precision control to become possible.
