Armed Forces Meilin Barracks Area Amphitheater, Taichung

Wuzhi Mountains Chiang Kai-Shek and Chiang Ching-Kuo Mausoleum

Xizhi District, New Taipei City
Special Project

1. The project is located on the high-altitude Wuzhi Mountains, with a short duration under undesirable weather conditions yet with a demand for extremely high quality. It was completed on schedule. The whole area consists of multiple-section oval retaining walls that form a 3D streamline shape. The retaining wall is up to 12 meters high and 30 cm~50 cm thick. Because it is located in a rainy and foggy mountain area with soft geology, there is not much flat land available for construction operations. It was not easy to build the retaining walls. The construction took place with JSP piles applying the high-pressure cement past grouting technique at ø=40 and s=40cm to reinforce the basic carrying capacity of the retaining walls.
2. The site was also improved applying the consolidation method in the park. The walls were built with special net bottom stone carpets that were even in tone and appeared to be magnificent and solemn. The national emblem image wall combines stone carpets in different colors to demonstrate unparalleled momentum and appear admiring.
